Following the Philippines vs Iran game which Filipinas won 2 – 0, Head Coach Mark Torcaso and Filipinas Player of the Match Sara Eggisvik attended the Media Conference.  Mark Torcaso commented when this writer asked him if there was any doubt before the game that the team will win the game:
“I was never in doubt with the girls’ outstanding professionalism and being so proud of their country that we could win this game. I didn’t doubt and neither the girls that we would win. The girls are proud of their performance in the last two games, against Australia and South Korea.  We truly believe we are playing in one of the toughest groups in this competition.  The girls keep fighting and hoping that we have done enough to progress to the last stage of the fixture. I am extremely proud of them and I hope the fans, especially Filipino fans from around the world are also proud of the girls too.
“On the game’s perspective, we pushed hard early today to target and score goals; we created a lot of chances.  We could have been more clinical.  But if you look at the front players, we have very young and talented girls – Alexa, Malle and Jael, backed by the experienced players behind them Sara, Jacklyn and Katrina. The girls would only get better and learn from each other as they continue playing for their country.”

Wait there’s more.  The Philippine Women’s National Team also confirmed that“by virtue of being one of the top eight teams we have also qualified for the 2028 Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament. "
The Quarter Finals game between the Philippines and Japan will be played on March 15 at 4pm in Stadium Australia (Sydney Olympic Park)!!
Congratulations Filipinas, Head Coach Mark Torcaso and the whole team management and supporters!!!   Mabuhay Filipinas!!!!   Mabuhay tayong lahat!!
