The Philippines grabs a spot in the upcoming 2027 FIFA World Cup by a win 0-2 against Ubezkistan in the playoff game today, March 21 in front of their faithful fans in the Gold Coast Stadium.  Congratulations Filipinas for a gritty performance in the AFC Asian Women’s Cup 2026.
The Philippines had nine shots at goal in the first half, which ended in Ubezkistan 0 – 0 Philippines after four additional minutes.
Early in the second half at 47 minutes, Angie Beard (Player #13) put away a goal for Filipinas.  This was followed by another shot at the back of t he net by Jacklyn Sawicki (Player #6).  Both these goals were assisted by Jael Maree Jael (Player #7).
Match statistics showed Ubezkistan has 6 shots at goal, with Philippines with 14.  Ubezkistan had higher possession at 56% with the Philippines only at 44%.  Two yellow cards were issued to Ubezkistan  with one to the Philippines.
Congratulations Head Coach Mark Torcaso, Team Management and Filipinas!!   You have done all Filipinos proud – winning Gold at SEA Games and now qualifying for the 2027 FIFA World Cup.
