On January 6, 2021, the riotous storming of the United States Capitol was carried out by a mob of supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump in an attempt to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.
The Australian Filipina has made contact with the Philippine Embassy in Washington DC following some reports by the media that there were Filipinos who participated in  this incident.
The Embassy shared with TAF the attached advisory addressed to Filipinos who are residing, working or visiting the metropolitan area of Washington DC.
